What is RWSL and How Does it Work?

Using desktop or laptop computers equipped with high bandwidth Internet access, students pursuing certain online science courses taught through the Colorado Community College System are provided with instructions regarding how to log into the RWSL experiments. Access requires only a few simple software installations taking approximately 10 minutes. Faculty lab experiments are designed to include use of the remotely accessible scientific equipment.

Once biology students have logged in, they will see the interface shown below.

This interface allows students to manipulate the microscope and the slide.

Here is a picture of the actual microscope that students access remotely.

Students anywhere around the world can access this microscope through the provision of proper permissions.

The microscope is located in a laboratory in Denver.
